The largest scientific epilepsy meeting in the world is taking place in Dublin this month.
Ireland hosts the International Epilepsy Congress (IEC) for the first time since 1997. The event, which runs from September 2-6, will see up to 3,000 professionals in epilepsy care attend Dublin’s Convention Centre.
Among the topics for discussion at IEC include newly diagnosed epilepsy, drug therapy, surgery, the effect of exercise on epilepsy, and public and patient involvement in epilepsy research.
Epilepsy Ireland has also collaborated with the International League Against Epilepsy and the International Bureau for Epilepsy to introduce a public programme of events as part of the Congress, which will feature leading epilepsy experts from around the globe engaging with Irish patients and their families, sharing their expertise and insights.
