Nearly 500 clinical trials carried out in Nordic countries since 2016 remain unpublished

One in five (22%) clinical trials carried out in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden between 2016 and 2019 have not had their results made public, according to a report by several organisations that advocate for trial transparency.1

The report, a collaboration between TranspariMED, Cochrane Denmark, Cochrane Norway, Cochrane Sweden, Dam Foundation, Melanomföreningen [the Swedish Melanoma Association], and the AllTrials campaign, looked at the 2113 clinical trials completed by 54 institutions across the five Nordic countries over a four year period.

It found that, of these, the results of 475 trials involving just under 84 000 patients have not been made public.
