NHS England faces legal action over redacted NHS data contract with Palantir


Not-for-profit campaign group the Good Law Project has launched legal action against NHS England after contracts for the controversial federated data platform (FDP), intended to connect patient data sources across the NHS, were published with most of the clauses and details redacted.

The two contracts—one with US private security firm Palantir for £330m and a supporting contract with biotech firm IQVIA—were published online on 22 December, one month after being awarded.1 Some 417 out of 586 pages of the Palantir contract and three quarters of the IQVIA contract are blanked out, including critical paragraphs on how patients’ personal data will …
